Student Opportunities
AMDT Study Tours
Tours to international and domestic locations are offered annually. You’ll learn about the industry by visiting manufacturing plants, design studios, and corporate headquarters. You’ll also meet industry speakers. Tour locations may include New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, United Kingdom, France, Italy, and China.
Connect with Industry
You will have opportunities to connect with industry:
- Guest speakers share career options and opportunities to connect with different companies
- Company visits allow you to meet, network, and present resumes to recruiters
- Career fairs
- Industry feedback on student projects
Student Clubs
Professional Clubs
Gain leadership experience, meet peers, network, and become involved in the department by joining a student club. Choose from the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) or the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA), both chapters of professional organizations.

Internships
Internships offer hands-on, real-world experience. Merchandising and Apparel Design majors are required to complete an internship. Internships are offered fall and summer semesters.
