Research Statement

Using the body as a framework, scholarship encompasses balancing aesthetic and functional aspects of visual, physical, and socio-psychological aspects of apparel on the body. Product development processes of design, fit and sizing include meaningful communication to consumers as a component of the balance of aesthetics and function. Visual analysis is a critical aspect of ensuring that apparel does indeed honor the body as an aesthetic and functional framework.
