Dr. Arthur conducts research into the textiles and clothing as material culture, leading to the examination of social, cultural, historic and psychological aspects of dress, in particular:

  • Religion and Dress
  • Culture and Dress
  • Gender Studies
  • The Body and Idealized Images
  • Design evolution of clothing and textiles
  • Textiles/clothing – markers of cultural change
