Graduate Program Specifics

The Program of Study and AMDT Graduate Committee should be submitted by the end of the second semester.  The AMDT Graduate Committee, Department Chair, and Graduate School approve your program of study.   Thesis or project work begins with the approval of the topic, committee and program of study, and continues with regular contact with a major professor who also guides interaction with master’s committee.

WSU graduate requirements include a minimum of 30 credits of which 21 credits for thesis or 26 credits for project are graded courses.   The program may also include up to 10 credits of supporting coursework and no more than 6 credits of 300-400 level courses for thesis work, 9 credits for project work or a total of 10 credits for transfer work.

Timing varies per student but averages two years.  Students taking background courses may take longer.  Typically students complete 10-18 hours per semester.

Students accepted by WSU as prospective graduate students should indicate their interest in applying for graduate assistantships.  Openings are available.
